Ondas Inc: selected to build Israel's next generation of military tactical attack drones
Ondas Inc. (Nasdaq: ONDS) has been selected to develop advanced autonomous command-and-control systems for Israel’s next-generation military attack drone fleet under a Ministry of Defense tender. The company will collaborate with two Israeli startups, Kela and eyeAtop, to build the platform, which will manage and operate the IDF’s future attack drone swarms. The selection follows a competitive process that included U.S.-based rivals, with Ondas ultimately securing the contract due to its autonomous systems and AI-driven defense.
The platform will integrate Kela’s open, modular architecture with eyeAtop’s autonomous operational software, enabling the IDF to rapidly adapt to evolving battlefield threats. Kela’s system collects and processes data from multiple military and commercial sources, while eyeAtop’s ASR system allows a single operator to control multiple drones simultaneously. The combined solution is expected to enhance IDF's response capabilities.
Ondas has been expanding its autonomous defense capabilities through strategic acquisitions and technological integration. The company has previously secured contracts for demining operations and counter-UAS systems, demonstrating its growing influence in the defense sector. The new platform aligns with Ondas’ broader strategy to develop integrated autonomous systems.
The contract underscores the increasing demand for autonomous technologies in modern warfare, particularly in the context of drone-based operations. As militaries seek to reduce human exposure to high-risk environments, systems like those developed by Ondas are expected to play a critical role.
