Nucor promotes Stephen D. Laxton to President, COO and CFO role.

Nucor Corporation announced the promotion of Stephen D. Laxton to President and Chief Operating Officer effective January 1, 2026. David A. Sumoski, current COO, will retire in June 2026 after 30 years of service. Laxton has been with Nucor since 2003 and served as CFO and Executive Vice President since 2022. The company will conduct a search for a new CFO, and Laxton will continue to serve in the role until a new appointment is made.
