NorthWestern Energy has filed a proposal with the Montana Public Service Commission to establish requirements and contract terms for serving large new load customers, including data centers and other energy-intensive operations. The filing aims to address costs and operational considerations associated with serving these loads while protecting existing customers. The proposed tariff includes specific requirements such as minimum service commitment periods, minimum demand and energy billing requirements, and performance assurance and collateral requirements.
