MSFT--

Microsoft has closed its office in Pakistan and laid off five employees, marking a significant development in the country's tech sector. The move is part of Microsoft's global restructuring efforts and transition to artificial intelligence and Software-as-a-Service business models. Other multinationals, such as Careem, have also scaled back or ceased operations in Pakistan. The Ministry of IT and Telecommunications clarified that Microsoft is not exiting Pakistan, but rather shifting to a cloud-based, partner-led model.
