Meta, a leading technology giant, has announced plans to invest up to $15 billion in the development of superintelligence. This significant investment is part of a broader race among tech companies to develop advanced AI models, including Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and superintelligence. Meta's efforts are being led by a new tech team, which includes Scale AI, a startup headed by 28-year-old Alexandr Wang. This team is expected to enhance Meta's Llama models and introduce better tools for voice and personalization, further solidifying Meta's position in the AI race.

Sam Altman, the chief of OpenAI and co-founder of Worldcoin, has also made significant strides in the AI sector. In a recent blog post, Altman stated that OpenAI's LLM ChatGPT is already more powerful than any human who has ever lived. This claim underscores the rapid advancements in AI technology and its potential impact on various sectors. Altman's plans for the Worldcoin project have also acted as a catalyst for the WLDWLDS-- token price, highlighting the growing interest in AI-related cryptocurrencies.

The announcements from MetaMETA-- and Altman, along with NVIDIA's earnings reports, have driven significant interest in Crypto AI tokens and Crypto AI Agent token categories. These developments have sparked excitement among traders and technology enthusiasts, who see the potential for substantial returns in the AI sector. The AI race is intensifying, with new entrants and billions of dollars being invested in AI technology, as companies vie to become the market leader.

Grayscale's report on the Artificial Intelligence Crypto Sector provides a comprehensive overview of the updates from 2025. While the growth and advancements in AI have generated excitement, there are concerns about the centralized control over AI development. Decentralized development of AI tools has been proposed as an alternative, but it has not been as well-received as centralized development. The Artificial Intelligence Crypto Sector of tokens compiled by Grayscale includes 20 tokens with a combined market capitalization of $21 billion, reflecting a nearly fivefold increase from $4.5 billion in Q1 2023. Analysts at Grayscale identified Bittensor (TAO) as the largest AI token, with AI tokens holding a 32% market share among traders as of May 2025.

The market capitalization of top AI tokens, including TAO, Near Protocol (NEAR), Render (RNDR), Fetch.ai (FET), Worldcoin (WLD), and Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL), has shown considerable growth between March 2023 and March 2025. This growth reflects the increasing interest and investment in AI-related cryptocurrencies. The top 10 tokens in the AI category and the top 5 AI agent tokens, as tracked by CoinGecko, have seen significant value additions in recent months. However, some tokens, such as TAO, Internet Computer (ICP), Story (IP), The Graph (GRT), DeXe (DEXE), and Grass (GRASS), have experienced corrections in the past 24 hours, highlighting the volatility in the AI token market.

AI agent tokens have observed higher volatility in their price in the past few months, with the sector's recovery largely dependent on catalysts. The AI token's daily price chart shows further consolidation in TAO is likely, with the token less than 10% away from its support at $333. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is sloping downwards and reads 42, under the neutral level, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) flashes red histogram bars under the neutral line, signaling an underlying negative momentum in TAO price. Conversely, further catalysts in the AI sector could fuel a positive sentiment among traders and drive demand for top tokens like TAO, potentially leading to a 14% gain and testing resistance at $415. The May 2025 peak of $500 remains a key resistance for the AI token.
