On June 13, 2025, Meta's trading volume reached $6.355 billion, ranking seventh in the day's stock market. MetaMETA-- (META) fell by 1.51%, marking its third consecutive day of decline, with a total drop of 2.78% over the past three days.

Meta has finalized a $14.3 billion investment in Scale AI, a data-labeling startup. As part of the deal, Scale AI's founder and CEO, Alexandr Wang, will join Meta to lead a 50-person team focused on developing artificial superintelligence. This acquisition is Meta's second-largest after its $19 billion buyout of WhatsApp. Wang, who is not from a research background but has built one of the largest businesses in providing data essential for AI model training, will play a key role in Meta's AI strategy. This move allows Meta to gain insights into its competitors' data priorities, as many AI labs have contracted Scale for data services. Scale AI was valued at nearly $14 billion in a May 2024 funding round, with backers including Nvidia, Amazon, and Meta. The company provides accurately labeled data crucial for training advanced AI tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT, through subsidiary platforms like Remotasks and Outlier, which recruit and manage gig workers for data labeling.
