Popular restaurant 1800 Lasagne was insolvent within five months of opening in Thornbury and accumulated over $2 million in unpaid taxes, including staff superannuation, in under five years. The business has continued to trade through liquidation and is expected to be sold soon, but creditors are unlikely to receive a meaningful return. Founder Joey Kellock is interested in buying the business back, but may face complications due to Suntop Plaza's own tax issues.
