MediaTek's Ambitious Plans for 6G, Edge AI, and Data Center Infrastructure

MediaTek showcased its ambitions in 6G, edge AI, and data center infrastructure at MWC 2026. The company demonstrated the world's first 6G radio interoperability setup, a "personal device cloud" concept, and AI-accelerated uplink transmit diversity for 6G. MediaTek also introduced the first 5G-Advanced CPE device paired with Wi-Fi 8, which supports 3GPP Release 18 and features an AI network engine that reduces latency up to ten times lower. The company emphasized its vision for AI moving fluidly between personal devices, vehicles, networks, and the cloud.
