Beyond Meat reported first-quarter 2025 net revenues of $68.7 million, a 9.1% decline compared to $75.6 million in the same period of the prior year according to financial results. This figure exceeds the estimated range of $57 million to $59 million that had been previously projected. The company attributed the year-over-year decline to a 11.2% drop in the volume of products sold, driven by weak demand in the U.S. retail and foodservice channels amid an uncertain macroeconomic environment as reported. However, a 2.4% increase in net revenue per pound partially offset the volume decline.

The U.S. retail channel saw a 15.4% decrease in net revenues to $31.4 million, primarily due to a 23.2% drop in product volume sold according to the report. In contrast, the international retail channel reported a modest 0.8% increase in net revenues to $12.7 million, supported by a 10.3% rise in net revenue per pound as detailed. The U.S. foodservice channel experienced a more pronounced decline, with net revenues falling 23.5% to $9.4 million, while international foodservice net revenues rose 12.1% to $15.3 million according to financial data.

Despite the revenue decline, Beyond Meat reduced operating expenses year-over-year to $55.1 million from $57.1 million as reported. The company also announced a $100 million new senior secured financing from an affiliate of the Ahimsa Foundation, aimed at strengthening its balance sheet and supporting its long-term financial strategy according to company announcement.

Looking ahead, Beyond Meat withdrew its full-year 2025 outlook due to ongoing market uncertainties but provided a revised second-quarter revenue forecast of $80 million to $85 million as stated. The company continues to focus on cost-savings initiatives and gross margin expansion as part of its broader strategy to achieve EBITDA-positive operations by the end of 2026 according to management.
