Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2025 Model Gets 6 Airbags, Price Hike of Rs 16,000-Rs 32,500

Maruti Suzuki has updated the 2025 Celerio with 6 airbags as a standard safety feature, increasing prices by Rs 16,000-Rs 32,500. The hatchback's K-series, 1.0-liter engine is available in both petrol and CNG options with two gearbox choices - a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. The Celerio rivals the Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki, the leading Indian automaker, has recently updated its popular small hatchback, the Celerio, with additional safety features. The 2025 model now comes standard with 6 airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers (1, 2). This commendable move by Maruti Suzuki is aimed at enhancing the safety of its customers.

The previous version of the Celerio only offered dual front airbags as standard. The upgrade to include side and curtain airbags is a significant step forward in ensuring the well-being of the vehicle's occupants. The additional safety features have resulted in a price increase ranging from Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 32,500 (2). The 2025 Celerio is available in three fuel options: 1.0-liter petrol, 1.0-liter petrol with CNG, and 1.0-liter CNG. The hatchback offers two gearbox choices: a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic manual transmission (AMT) (2).

The 2025 Celerio's safety update has also resulted in some changes to its specifications. The hatchback now offers a slightly reduced boot space of 292 liters, which is 21 liters less than the previous model (2). The latest safety update has also increased the Celerio's kerb weight by up to 10kg (2).

The claimed mileage of the Celerio VXI AMT has dropped from 26.68kmpl to 26kmpl, which is on par with the ZXI AMT and ZXI Plus AMT variants (2). Maruti Suzuki has also replaced the Pearl Midnight Black exterior color option with a new Pearl Bluish Black color option, which is available in all variants except the base LXI (3).
