Mangaluru Traffic Police Crack Down on Violations, Impose Fines and Book Cases

The Mangaluru City Traffic Police are conducting intensive drives against traffic violations, booking cases and imposing fines. In July, 78 cases of riding without a helmet were booked, and ₹38,600 in fines were collected. Unauthorised vegetable markets operating under the Thokkottu Flyover have caused hygiene concerns and affected vehicular movement. Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy warned violators of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita and urged the public to report nuisance through the 112 helpline.
