Malaysia and Singapore Unveil Ambitious Johor Economic Zone Deal

In a significant move to bolster economic ties and regional development, Malaysia and Singapore have announced a deal to establish the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). This strategic initiative, signed on 11 January 2024, aims to transform the border region between Johor and Singapore into a premier economic hub, fostering deeper economic integration and collaboration between the two nations.

The JS-SEZ, spanning over 3,500 sq km, will cover six districts in Johor, including Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Pasir Gudang, Pontian, Kulai, and Kota Tinggi.
