A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck near the Yukon-Alaska border in Canada on Saturday, with no casualties reported. The earthquake was five kilometers deep, and the South Klondike Highway was closed due to increased avalanche conditions. Professor Edwin Nissen noted that earthquakes have occurred in the same area in 1899, 1979, 2002, and 2017.
