1. Nvidia (Nasdaq: NVDA)
Nvidia surged by 6.53%. NVIDIA's trading volume on August 13, 2024, was $35.42 billion, leading the U.S. stock market. BlackRock and Vanguard increased their holdings in NVIDIA in Q2. BNP Paribas also raised its NVIDIA holdings. CEO Jensen Huang sold 240,000 NVIDIA shares in August, netting $24.91 million.

2. Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA)
Tesla gained solidly by 5.24%. Tesla has stopped accepting orders for the $61,000 Cybertruck on its website; the $100,000 version remains available with deliveries expected this month. Additionally, Tesla's Vice President Tao Lin held discussions with the General Manager of China Automotive Technology and Research Center, Lu Mei.

3. Meta (Nasdaq: META)

5. Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT)
Microsoft gained mildly by 1.77%. Microsoft unveiled the JARVIS system for AI applications. The Windows 11 24H2 August update improves lock screen and DNS security. Microsoft launched a small window experience for Microsoft Teams meetings. Microsoft's market capitalization has returned to $3 trillion.

6. Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL)
Apple gained mildly by 1.72%. Apple's latest iOS 18 and macOS 15 Sequoia beta versions introduce a major iPhone screen mirroring update, allowing users to manage the iPhone desktop directly on a Mac. Apple collaborates with Rivian to offer native Apple Music support across all Rivian electric vehicles.

7. Alphabet (Nasdaq: GOOG)
Alphabet gained mildly by 1.21%. Google has released the Pixel 9 series smartphones featuring Tensor G4 and seven years of OTA updates. Google also unveiled the Pixel Studio image generation app and Gemini Live AI voice chat service. Additionally, Google launched Pixel Buds Pro 2 with enhanced ANC. The company faces potential DOJ-imposed breakups.
