Lucid Group and Uber Partner on Next-Gen Robotaxi Program

Lucid Group has partnered with Nuro and Uber to develop a next-generation premium global robotaxi program. The program will combine Lucid's software-defined vehicle architecture, Nuro's Driver Level 4 autonomy system, and Uber's vast global network for a fully integrated robotaxi experience. Uber plans to deploy 20,000 or more Lucid vehicles over six years, with investments of hundreds of millions of dollars in both Nuro and Lucid.

The collaboration aims to deploy 20,000 or more Lucid vehicles equipped with Nuro's Level 4 self-driving system over six years. The first launch is expected in a major US city next year. The partnership leverages Lucid's advanced vehicle architecture, Nuro's AI-powered autonomy system, and Uber's extensive global network.

The Lucid Gravity, a key component of the partnership, boasts a 450-mile EPA estimated range, reducing charging downtime and maximizing vehicle availability. Nuro's Nuro Driver™, which operates at Level 4 autonomy, integrates an end-to-end AI model with safeguards for precision and reliability. The vehicles will be owned and operated by Uber or its third-party fleet partners and made available to riders exclusively via the Uber platform.

The partnership includes multi-hundred-million-dollar investments in both Lucid and Nuro, validating the companies' technologies and positioning them for growth in the autonomous driving market. The collaboration is expected to demonstrate the potential of combining proven AV technology with real-world scale, making autonomous vehicles accessible to millions of people globally.
