Lucid Group Sets New Guinness World Record for Longest Distance Traveled by an Electric Vehicle on a Single Charge

Lucid Group Inc. set a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric vehicle on a single charge, covering 1,205 kilometers (749 miles) in its Lucid Air Grand Touring sedan. The feat surpassed the previous record of 1,045 kilometers and was achieved through advanced battery management, ultra-high voltage systems, and highly efficient motors. The company credits its record-setting success to a combination of advanced technology and efficient design.

Lucid Group Inc. has achieved a significant milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) industry by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric vehicle on a single charge. The record was set with the Lucid Air Grand Touring sedan, which covered an impressive 1,205 kilometers (749 miles) without requiring a single charging stop.

The journey, which took place between St. Moritz, Switzerland, and Munich, Germany, included a variety of road types, including alpine roads, highways, and secondary roads. This accomplishment not only surpasses the previous record of 1,045 kilometers but also underscores the technological advancements in EV range and efficiency.

At the heart of the Lucid Air Grand Touring's success is Lucid's advanced proprietary electric powertrain technology. The vehicle features a WLTP range of 960 kilometers and an energy consumption rate of 13.5 kWh/100 km, making it one of the most efficient electric vehicles on the market. The sedan's powerful 831 PS (611 kW) engine allows it to reach a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour, while its ultra-fast charging capability enables it to gain up to 400 kilometers of range in just 16 minutes.

Lucid Group's Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer, Eric Bach, attributed the record-setting success to a combination of advanced technology and efficient design. This record is not the first time Lucid has collaborated with Umit Sabanci, a London-based entrepreneur known for his passion for setting and breaking Guinness World Records. In 2024, Sabanci set the record for the most countries visited on a single charge in a production battery electric vehicle, also using a Lucid Air Grand Touring.
