Litecoin Reclaims Key Level, Signals 50% Upside Potential
Litecoin (LTC) has demonstrated notable strength by reclaiming a significant price level, indicating a potential upward momentum. Crypto analyst Crypto Tony reported that LTC/USD has successfully flipped the equilibrium (EQ) of its historical trading range into support. This level, between $86 and $88, has historically served as both resistance and support in past cycles. With LTCLTC-- now holding above this level on the weekly chart, it suggests a shift in momentum to the upside.
Historically, LitecoinLTC-- has traded within a range of $57 to $137. With the EQ now acting as support, traders are closely monitoring for a potential move toward the upper boundary near $130. Sustained momentum could drive a breakout, ending the prolonged consolidation seen in recent months. Market sentiment is beginning to improve as technical conditions favor an upward trend.
In addition to the price action, Litecoin’s on-chain fundamentals are also strengthening. The Litecoin Foundation confirmed that over 156,000 LTC, valued at more than $13.5 million, are now locked into the MimbleWimble Extension BlockXYZ-- (MWEB). Launched with Litecoin Core 0.21.2 in May 2022, MWEB enhances privacy through confidential transactions, CoinJoin features, and stealth addresses. It operates as an opt-in privacy layer secured by proof-of-work, reducing blockchain bloat by pruning spent data and making the network more scalable. More than 90% of miners and nodes now validate MWEB blocks, indicating widespread support and adoption.
According to analyst Justin Bons, Litecoin stands out by offering both privacy and scalability features that are not often found together. He contrasted this with privacy coins that struggle to scale and chains that lack built-in privacy. With Aztec’s LitVM expected to bring smart contracts to Litecoin, the network is evolving into a fully programmable, privacy-focused blockchain. This development positions Litecoin as a versatile and secure option in the cryptocurrency landscape, potentially attracting more users and investors.
