LinksDAO Tees Off New Token, LINKS, on Base Blockchain

LinksDAO, a crypto golf club, is set to launch its own community token, LINKS, on the Base blockchain in the coming months. The token is designed to enhance the club's reach and deepen its connection with the golf community. A third of the token's supply will be allocated to LinksDAO NFT holders, with smaller allocations for members of other NFT communities.

The token is not intended to be a speculative investment, but rather a community enhancer, according to LinksDAO founders. The goal is to have every golfer with a crypto wallet hold LINKS. The club has already purchased a golf course in Scotland and is in the process of becoming a partial owner of a second course in Kansas City, subject to a vote by LinksDAO's NFT-holding members.

LinksDAO's membership NFTs, which were once highly sought after, have since lost much of their value. The market euphoria that led to the sale of LinksDAO's membership tokens for $10 million in early 2022 has since faded. However, LinksDAO has managed to weather the bear market by leveraging the growing power of golf.

The club's dual announcement of the course acquisition and the launch of the LINKS token was met with enthusiasm from members. Some 200 members attended a community call to hear the news. While LinksDAO is not a decentralized autonomous organization, it serves as an affinity club for people who are interested in both crypto and golf.
