Kyivstar and Ukraine Ministry of Digital Transformation to Develop National LLM Using Google Gemma

Kyivstar and Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation have chosen Google Gemma as the base model for their national large language model (LLM). The project aims to develop a Ukrainian LLM that captures the country's dialects, terminology, and context while keeping sensitive data securely stored and processed within Ukraine. Kyivstar will operationally lead the development of the LLM, leveraging Google's Vertex AI infrastructure for computing power. The project aims to serve as the foundation for AI-powered services across the public and private sectors in Ukraine.
