Key Tables and Considerations in SAP S4HANA's Material Management Module

The Material Management (MM) module in SAP S/4HANA uses a simplified data model with new tables and structures. However, ensuring compatibility for consumers in higher layers, partners, and customer solutions was a significant challenge. To tackle this, SAP implemented the use of proxy objects in the form of Core Data Services (CDS) views [1]. These CDS views were employed to calculate stock figures on the fly and join the master data results contained in the hybrid tables, ensuring seamless compatibility.
