Keppel Data Centres has been provisionally allocated 50 megawatts (MW) of new data centre capacity under Singapore’s second DC-CFA 2 exercise, announced on August 21, 2026. The allocation is part of a total 200 MW awarded to four operators, including Digital Realty, Equinix, and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC). The new facilities will be located on Jurong Island, where low-carbon data centre park to support sustainable operations.

The DC-CFA 2 exercise, which received over 20 proposals, aims to ensure that the data centre sector operates sustainably. All selected operators have committed to sourcing more than 50 per cent of their power from green energy and adopting advanced technologies such as liquid cooling and energy-efficient IT equipment. This aligns with prioritize high-value workloads like AI training and financial services, while managing land and power constraints.

The 50 MW allocation for Keppel represents a strategic expansion opportunity, particularly as the company continues to develop its existing data centre infrastructure. The initial phase of capacity delivery is expected between 2026 and 2028, with remaining capacity closing March 31, 2026. The government plans to reassess need for further capacity releases in 18 to 24 months.
