Japan has introduced new banknotes with advanced 3D hologram technology to combat counterfeiting, marking the first currency upgrade in two decades. The 10,000 yen, 5,000 yen, and 1,000 yen bills feature Eiichi Shibusawa, Umeko Tsuda, and Shibasaburo Kitasato, notable figures in Japanese capitalism, women's equality, and scientific innovation, respectively. The backs display Tokyo Station, wisteria flowers, and Katsushika Hokusai's Mount Fuji. The new bills are designed with larger fonts for easier reading by Japan's aging population.
