The third round of indirect talks between the United States and Iran on the nuclear issue concluded with both sides expressing satisfaction with the progress made. A senior U.S. government official described the negotiations as "positive and productive," noting that both parties have agreed to continue discussions in Europe in the near future. Both sides acknowledged that there is still substantial work to be done to reach a final agreement.

Oman's Foreign Minister, Badr Albusaidi, who acted as a mediator, stated that the latest round of talks covered core principles, objectives, and technical concerns. The discussions were described as more detailed and technical than previous rounds, with both sides delving into specific issues related to Iran's nuclear program, economic sanctions, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the seriousness of the talks, stating that they had moved into more detailed and technical discussions. He also noted that while there is a willingness to reach an agreement, significant differences remain on key issues. "Sometimes, having the will is not enough. When differences are severe, it may lead to an inability to reach an agreement. Having the determination does not guarantee success," he warned.

Despite the challenges, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff expressed optimism, stating that while there is still much work to be done, the current round of talks has made further progress towards reaching an agreement. The next round of negotiations is expected to take place in Europe, continuing the momentum built during the previous discussions.

The ongoing talks are part of a broader effort to revive the JointJYNT-- Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was abandoned by the United States in 2018. The JCPOA aimed to limit Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions. Reviving the JCPOA could address concerns about Iran's nuclear program and improve relations between the United States and Iran.

The decision to continue negotiations in Europe underscores a commitment to resolving the conflict through dialogue rather than confrontation. Both sides are expected to build on the progress made in previous rounds, addressing remaining issues and moving closer to a comprehensive agreement. The upcoming talks are crucial in determining the future of the nuclear negotiations and the potential for a diplomatic resolution to the long-standing issue.
