Intershop Reports Preliminary FY 2025 EBIT Loss of EUR -2.8M Amid Strategic Shifts

Intershop Communications AG (ISIN: DE000A254211) announced preliminary financial results for the fiscal year 2025, reporting an operating loss (EBIT) of EUR -2.8 million, a significant decline from EUR 0.1 million in the prior year. Total revenues fell to EUR 33.3 million in 2025, down from EUR 38.8 million in 2024, driven by reduced service and license revenues amid a strategic pivot toward cloud-based solutions.

Cloud revenues remained stable at EUR 20.5 million, accounting for 62% of total revenues (up from 53% in 2024), with incoming cloud orders rising 9% year-on-year to EUR 21.7 million. Annual recurring revenue (ARR) held steady at EUR 20.1 million, though net new ARR declined sharply to EUR 0.6 million (before currency effects), reflecting contract expirations.

The EBIT loss was attributed to a resource-intensive service project and one-time costs from cost-cutting measures. Operating expenses decreased slightly to EUR 17.5 million, while R&D spending rose 8% to EUR 7.2 million. The company also incurred EUR 0.9 million in personnel reduction costs, part of efforts to stabilize its cost base.

Intershop's equity ratio improved to 36% as of December 2025, supported by a EUR 4.4 million capital increase via a rights issue. The firm extended CEO Markus Dränert's contract until March 2029, emphasizing continuity in its strategic direction.

For 2026, Intershop anticipates a "balanced operating result (EBIT)" despite expecting slightly lower revenues, citing cost efficiencies and sustained cloud demand. The full audited financial statements are slated for release in mid-March 2026.

Key Figures (2025 vs. 2024):
- Total Revenues: EUR 33.3M vs. EUR 38.8M
- Cloud Revenues: EUR 20.5M vs. EUR 20.5M
