Intel's stock price popped today, jumping 6.4% in Monday's trading session, thanks to a combination of bullish analyst coverage and excitement surrounding upcoming processors and graphics processing units (GPUs). The semiconductor giant's share price ended the session up 6.2%, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Analysts at Melius Research, led by Ben Reitzes, issued a bullish report on Intel, highlighting the company's potential in the artificial intelligence (AI) space and gaming hardware market. Reitzes believes that Microsoft's new Recall AI feature could be a significant catalyst for devices built using Intel's Lunar Lake central processing unit (CPU) line for PCs and mobile. This positive coverage from a respected analyst boosted investor confidence in Intel's stock.

In addition to the bullish analyst coverage, Intel's stock price also received a boost due to excitement surrounding upcoming processors and GPUs. The company is expected to launch new processors, including the Lunar Lake CPUs for PCs and mobile devices, which could debut in 2024 or early 2025. Intel is also gearing up to launch a new GPU called Battlemage, which is targeted at the gaming market rather than the data-center market. This upcoming processor is said to be fabricated by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and is expected to launch in 2025.
