India's Web3 Leap: IBW2025 Fuels Global Innovation Hub Ambitions
Bengaluru, India, is set to host the third and largest edition of India Blockchain Week (IBW 2025), the country's premier series of Web3 and blockchain events, from December 1–7, 2025. The summit, anchored by the two-day IBW 2025 Conference at the Sheraton Grand Convention Centre in Bengaluru, will convene global investors, policymakers, and innovators to spotlight India's growing influence in the Web3 ecosystem. Binance and AptosAPT-- Foundation, two of the world's leading blockchain entities, are serving as title sponsors, underscoring the event's role as a hub for innovation and talent.
India's Web3 momentum is fueled by a robust ecosystem: over 1,200 blockchain startups, 35 million active crypto users, the world's second-largest developer base, and the highest crypto adoption rate for three consecutive years. The Karnataka government has further amplified this momentum with a INR 518 crore Start-up Policy 2025-2030, aimed at nurturing innovation and supporting blockchain ventures. The state's Minister for Electronics and IT, Priyank M. Kharge, will deliver the opening keynote on Day 2 of the conference, aligning with the state's broader push to solidify its position as a tech innovation leader.
The event will feature over 100 side events, workshops, and networking sessions hosted by global and Indian blockchain stakeholders, including Polygon, CardanoADA--, and Hashed Emergent. Notable speakers include Sreeram Kannan, Avery Ching, and Sandeep Nailwal, who will discuss the intersection of blockchain, AI, and regulatory frameworks. Kushal Manupati of Binance emphasized India's role as a "dynamic Web3 developer community," noting that the Binance Blockchain Yatra has already connected local founders with global networks. Similarly, Avery Ching highlighted India as a "key market", where "innovators are bringing real-world use cases to life".
The IBW Demo Day, sponsored by Aptos Foundation and Avalanche, will offer a platform to pitch to global investors, with Hashed Emergent committing up to $250,000 in investments. The Cardano Hackathon Asia 2025, part of the event, will provide $65,000 in prizes and mentorship to teams developing blockchain solutions. Hashed Emergent's CEO, Tak Lee, stressed the event's focus on "ecosystem growth," including partnerships with universities and government bodies to expand India's Web3 community.
The conference is expected to attract 5,000+ participants from 40+ countries, surpassing last year's attendance of 3,500. With India's Web3 sector poised for sustained growth, IBW 2025 aims to cement the country's status as a global innovation hub. As the event approaches, stakeholders are optimistic about the potential for cross-border collaboration and the acceleration of blockchain adoption in emerging markets.
