The company has also been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Companies to Work For for the third year in a row.

Illumina's sustainability efforts include an 80% reduction in packaging since 2019 and maintaining 100% renewable electricity consumption globally for the third consecutive year. The company's latest innovation, the MiSeq i100 Series sequencer, features 85% less packaging and a 35% lower carbon footprint compared to the original system [1].

TIME evaluated thousands of companies worldwide to compile the list, with Illumina ranking second overall in the United States and third in the global Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology Industry category. The selection was based on more than 20 key performance indicators related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices [1].
