IHG Expands voco Hotels Brand to Phuket with New Property

IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its voco hotels brand to Phuket, Thailand, in partnership with AssetWise Public Company Limited and Rhom Bho Property Public Company Limited. The 175-key voco Phuket Bangtao is set to open in 2029 and will offer guests upscale amenities in the upscale lifestyle destination of Bangtao. This marks the third signing for voco hotels in Thailand and the first in Phuket, joining a portfolio of over 180 open and pipeline properties globally.

The 175-key voco Phuket Bangtao is set to open in 2029, offering guests upscale amenities in the upscale lifestyle destination of Bangtao. This marks the third signing for voco hotels in Thailand and the first in Phuket, joining a portfolio of over 180 open and pipeline properties globally [1].

The new hotel, voco Phuket Bangtao, will be situated in the heart of Bangtao, a popular lifestyle destination known for its beautiful white sand beaches, vibrant beach clubs, and excellent restaurants and bars. The hotel will feature 175 rooms and suites, along with facilities such as a restaurant, lounge and bar, spa, swimming pool, and fitness centre. It will be located approximately 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport [1].

This expansion is part of IHG's strategy to double its estate across Thailand in the next few years. Thailand is a key growth market for IHG, with 40 open hotels across nine brands and 41 properties in its pipeline as of June 30, 2025 [1]. The addition of voco Phuket Bangtao is expected to enhance IHG's presence in Phuket and strengthen its portfolio in the region.
