ICICI Bank Raises Minimum Savings Account Balance to ₹50,000 in Metros and Urban Areas

ICICI Bank has raised the minimum balance requirement for its savings bank accounts to ₹50,000 in metros and urban areas, making it the highest among domestic banks. The minimum balance for semi-urban and rural branches has been raised to ₹25,000 and ₹10,000 respectively. This move is seen as a strategy to target the affluent market and increase fee earnings through cross-selling of other products.
