Highway 101 Widening Project: Final Segment Begins Construction

Construction on the final segment of the Highway 101 widening project in Santa Barbara County begins on April 6, marking the completion of the 10.9-mile peak-period carpool lane project. The Highway 101: Santa Barbara North segment includes a new carpool lane, reconstructed Cabrillo Boulevard Interchange, and improved freeway lanes. Construction is expected to continue through 2028.
