The partnership will enable patients to verify their identity with a selfie and bypass traditional paperwork. The integration with Epic will allow for MyChart account creation and password reset, and patient check-in on kiosks at select locations. The goal is to create a single, interoperable identity for faster and more convenient patient experiences.

Hackensack Meridian Health, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare network in New Jersey, has announced a strategic partnership with CLEAR, a secure identity company, to streamline patient experiences across its network. This collaboration aims to enhance patient identity verification and create a seamless, secure, and convenient patient experience.

The partnership will leverage CLEAR's identity platform, CLEAR1, integrated with Epic, to enable MyChart Account Creation and Password Reset. Patients will be able to verify their identity with a quick selfie, bypassing traditional paperwork. This technology will also be available for Patient Check-In on kiosks at select locations within the network.

The partnership's initial rollout includes MyChart Account Creation and Password Reset, followed by the implementation of CLEAR's Check-In experience at the John Theurer Cancer Center (JTCC) at Hackensack University Medical Center, one of the top 20 hospitals in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report 2025-26. This technology will also be available at the Hackensack Meridian Health and Wellness Center in Eatontown, New Jersey, before expanding more widely across the network.
