The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter is raising $102,000 for three pairs of E3 Night Vision Goggles to improve safety and effectiveness during nighttime rescue missions. The upgrade is critical for the service operating in the Central Plateau and Lakes District, where missions can be challenging due to fast-changing weather, steep landscapes, and remote terrain. The technology will help pilots and crew locate and rescue people like Mike, who was stranded on the Tongariro River after dark.
