Great Lakes Dredge & Dock takes delivery of Amelia Island dredge.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation has taken delivery of its newest Jones Act-compliant hopper dredge, Amelia Island, from the Conrad Shipyard. The vessel is designed for efficient and safe operations in shallow and narrow waters along U.S. coastlines. It features two 800mm trailing suction pipes, dredging depths up to 100 feet, a hopper capacity of 6,330 yd³, and low emissions EPA Tier IV rated engines.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) has taken delivery of its newest Jones Act-compliant hopper dredge, the Amelia Island, from the Conrad Shipyard in Morgan City, Louisiana. The vessel, which joins the company's existing fleet, is designed for efficient and safe operations in shallow and narrow waters along U.S. coastlines.

The Amelia Island is approximately 346 feet in length, 69 feet in breadth, and 23 feet in depth, with 16,500 total horsepower installed. The dredge features two 800mm trailing suction pipes capable of dredging depths up to 100 feet and a hopper capacity of 6,330 yd³. The main engines and generators are EPA Tier IV rated for low emissions [1].
