Google Pixel 10 Exclusive: WhatsApp to Support Satellite Voice and Video Calls

The Pixel 10 series, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, will be the first devices to offer this functionality. The new feature leverages satellite technology, allowing users to communicate in remote or low-coverage areas where traditional cellular networks may not be available. This partnership marks a significant step in Google's efforts to enhance the capabilities of its Pixel devices.

Google's new Tensor G5 processor, built on TSMC's 3nm process node, powers the Pixel 10 series. This processor, designed for the Gemini AI era, introduces a feature called "Magic Cue" that turns Gemini AI into a more proactive assistant. This AI can provide relevant information before the user even asks for it, such as hotel stay details if the user has called the hotel.

The Pixel 10 series also features advanced AI capabilities, high-resolution OLED displays, and enhanced cameras. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL come with 50-megapixel main cameras and 48-megapixel ultrawide sensors, offering up to 100x Pro Res Zoom. The Pixel 10, however, has a 48-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, with up to 20x Super Res Zoom.

In addition to the Pixel 10 series, Google has also introduced the Pixel Watch 4 and updated Pixel Buds 2a. The Pixel Watch 4 features a domed 360 display, satellite connectivity, and a more accurate sleep tracking sensor. The Pixel Buds 2a, priced at $129, offer Active Noise Cancellation and improved sound quality with a custom-designed speaker driver.

The Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a can be pre-ordered from Google's website, with the Pixel Watch 4 starting at $349. The Pixel Buds Pro 2, priced at $229, will receive new features such as Adaptive Audio and Loud Noise Protection, mimicking functionalities found in Apple's AirPods.

This partnership between Google and WhatsApp is expected to boost the value of Google's Pixel devices and enhance their market competitiveness. As the demand for satellite communication increases, especially in remote areas, this feature could attract a broader user base to the Pixel 10 series.
