Cantor Fitzgerald has introduced the CantorCEPT-- Fitzgerald Gold Protected BitcoinBTC-- Fund, L.P., a hybrid investment vehicle designed to offer exposure to Bitcoin’s growth potential while incorporating downside risk mitigation through gold. The fund, announced in May at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas and officially launched in early September 2025, is structured to provide a balance between the volatility of Bitcoin and the stability of gold. The product is intended for accredited investors seeking a managed-risk approach to cryptocurrency exposure. According to Cantor Fitzgerald, the strategy allows participants to capture up to 45% of Bitcoin’s appreciation over a five-year period while protecting their initial investment against potential declines in the cryptocurrency's value through gold-backed mechanisms [2].

The fund’s structure is designed to address investor concerns regarding Bitcoin’s historical volatility. In the past, Bitcoin has experienced significant price swings, including a sharp decline from a high of over $69,000 in 2021 to under $16,000 the following year. While Bitcoin’s volatility has somewhat decreased this year, particularly with the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs, the hybrid product aims to provide a more secure entry point for risk-averse investors. By combining Bitcoin’s potential for long-term appreciation with gold’s traditional role as a safe-haven asset, the fund seeks to offer a diversified approach to managing exposure to the cryptocurrency [1].

Bill Ferri, Global Head of Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management, emphasized that the five-year investment period helps to reduce the impact of short-term volatility and correlation spikes while maintaining the potential to benefit from Bitcoin’s upward trajectory. “This gold-protected Bitcoin strategy spans five years and tackles both risks head-on: it captures Bitcoin's upward trajectory while gold provides a safety net that historically performs well when markets decline,” he stated. This approach aligns with broader market conditions, as many traditional risk assets are currently near or at all-time highs, making timing and protection increasingly important for investors [3].

Gold has also seen a notable increase in price, reaching nearly $3,680 per ounce and gaining more than 37% year-to-date. The performance of gold reinforces its role as a hedge against macroeconomic uncertainties, including inflation and concerns about the U.S. economy. Cantor Fitzgerald’s new fund leverages these characteristics to offer a more stable investment vehicle for those interested in Bitcoin without full exposure to its price fluctuations [4].

The launch of the fund is a continuation of Cantor Fitzgerald’s broader strategy to innovate in the digital asset space. The firm has previously been involved in Bitcoin-related initiatives, including custody services for Tether’s USDTUSDC-- stablecoin. With assets under management across its investment platform reaching approximately $16.8 billion, the firm is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving landscape of alternative and digital assets [5].
