GM Issues Recall for 23,700 Chevy Equinox EVs Due to Potential Faulty Pedestrian Alert System

General Motors (GM) has issued a recall for over 23,000 2024 Chevy Equinox EV models due to a potentially faulty pedestrian alert sound system that may not make enough noise to alert those around the vehicle when traveling at low speeds or shifting into drive. The recall affects vehicles built between August 8, 2023, and August 28, 2024, and owners will be notified with a letter on November 10, 2025. GM is still developing a fix and has not reported any incidents.
