GM CEO Mary Barra says battery-powered vehicles are the "end game" despite spending billions on a next-generation V8 engine family. The automaker had to cut EV investments after the Trump administration gutted EPA regulations and loosened fuel-economy rules. Barra also said GM will continue to sell plug-in hybrids in the US and is studying which market segments and vehicles will receive the technology.
