Globus Spirits Ltd. has reaffirmed Shekhar Swarup’s leadership role as Joint Managing Director, a position he has held since ascending through the company’s ranks. Swarup, who joined the firm in 2008, has overseen significant operational and strategic expansions, including the reopening of closed facilities and scaling production across multiple locations in India. His tenure has been marked by a focus on manufacturing efficiency, with the company’s plants operating 355 days annually, a key differentiator in the industry.

Swarup recently assumed the presidency of the All India Distillers’ Association (AIDA), succeeding Chandan Shirgaokar, in a leadership transition announced at the association’s 2024 Annual General Meeting. In this role, he has emphasized priorities such as ethanol production growth and addressing challenges related to distillers’ dried grains (DDGS) availability.

Financially, Globus Spirits has reduced debt accumulated during previous years, with Swarup highlighting the importance of operating profit for cash flow and reinvestment in consumer brand expansion. The company’s products are now available in 15 Indian states, up from seven in 2024, as it seeks to leverage manufacturing strengths to fund brand development.

Under Swarup’s leadership, the company maintains a strong global client base, spanning Western Europe, Africa, and other regions, supported by its reputation for quality.
