Global PC Shipments See Strongest Growth Since 2022 Amid Recovery and Improved Supply Chains

Global PC shipments totaled more than 63 million units in the second quarter of 2025, marking a 4.4% increase from the same period in 2024, according to preliminary results by Gartner, Inc. [1][2]
The surge in shipments was driven by several key factors, including increased enterprise demand, Windows 11 desktop upgrades, and AI-ready refreshes, particularly in the education sector. Looking ahead, Gartner forecasts a 2.4% rise in PC shipments for the year 2025, driven by a tariff-driven front-loaded inventory surge in the first half of 2025 in the U.S., and ongoing Windows 11 replacement cycles in the rest of the world.
