In the first quarter of 2025, Ginakev Digital Academy (GIDA) spearheaded significant efforts to foster innovation, blockchain technology, and digital literacy in Nigeria. From January 25th to February 15th, GIDA, in collaboration with the Starknet Foundation, conducted a comprehensive blockchain education tour across five Nigerian cities: Kaduna, Ibadan, Benin, Anambra, and Enugu. The GIDA ChainUp Roadshows were designed to educate, connect, and onboard a new generation of African Web3 builders, reaching over 600 participants with a 98.71% attendance rate. Each city hosted keynote speeches and panel sessions led by experts and partner communities, focusing on topics such as Layer 2 scaling, career development in Web3, and real-world decentralized applications.

The roadshows covered four geo-political zones in Nigeria, ensuring regional inclusivity and outreach to underrepresented tech communities. All events were free, providing attendees with access to high-quality blockchain education and the opportunity to apply for scholarships to the GIDA Cairo Web3 Developer BootcampBOOT-- 2.0. The ChainUp Roadshow laid the groundwork for future startups, developer collaborations, and localized decentralized solutions, with strategic regional partnerships extending the program’s reach and impact.

Following the roadshow, 172 people registered for the GIDA Cairo Web3 Developer Bootcamp 2.0, with a male-to-female attendee ratio of 7 to 3. The bootcamp achieved a significant milestone with its first-ever female graduate, further solidifying GIDA’s commitment to decentralized education. The success of the bootcamp and roadshow was detailed in GIDA’s 2025 Q1 impact report.

GIDA’s efforts gained international recognition through participation in the Gitcoin “Web3 for Universities” funding round held in March 2025. The academy received 1,481.79 dollars in matched funding from 84 unique contributors, with a total of 207 dollars donated. This community support will help sustain GIDA’s decentralized education mission, making free Web3 education a reality.

GIDA’s initiatives, including the roadshows, bootcamp, and Gitcoin round, have positioned the academy as a leader in Web3 education in Africa. The success of these programs underscores the growing interest and potential in the Web3 space, particularly in regions with emerging tech communities. GIDA’s commitment to free and accessible education is paving the way for a new generation of African Web3 builders, fostering innovation and digital literacy across the continent.
