Chinese automaker Geely has announced its intention to acquire Zeekr Intelligent Technology Holding Ltd (NYSE: ZK), a prominent player in the battery electric vehicle (BEV) technology sector. The acquisition aims to bolster Geely's capabilities in BEV architecture, hardware, software, and new technologies. Zeekr's product portfolio includes models such as ZEEKR 001, ZEEKR 001 FR, ZEEKR 009, and ZEEKR X.

The acquisition comes amidst Zeekr's recent innovations and market performance. In June 2025, Zeekr delivered 16,702 vehicles under its brand, contributing to a cumulative year-to-date delivery of 244,877 vehicles [2]. The company's revenue for the first quarter of 2025 reached RMB22,019 million, marking a 1.1% increase year-over-year, with gross profits at RMB4,213 million, up 18.8% [2].

Zeekr's technological prowess is evident in its latest unveiling, the Zeekr 9X, which features the world's first full-stack 900-volt high-voltage hybrid platform. The 9X offers a peak output of 1,030 kW and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under 3.1 seconds [1]. The vehicle's range is impressive, with a CLTC pure electric range of up to 380 kilometers and a combined range of over 1,000 kilometers when fully fueled and charged.
