Sydney's underworld has seen a significant development with the arrest of 13 members of a new criminal syndicate dubbed 'G7.' The group is suspected of being involved in various serious crimes, including shootings, home invasions, and motor vehicle thefts. The arrests come amidst ongoing investigations into organized crime networks in Sydney. The G7 gang is believed to have ties to feuding organizations such as the Alameddine crime network and Brothers for Life. The group was first identified when financial crimes squad detectives began investigating the supply of vehicles used as getaway cars to organized crime networks in January 2025 [1].
Taskforce Falcon, launched in May to quell the violence linked to the conflict between the Alameddine crime network and its new rival, took over the investigation into G7. The task force alleges that the group is responsible for 17 staged vehicles used in serious crimes, which are believed to be part of a larger organized crime operation [1].
The arrests began on July 28, 2025, when an 18-year-old man was arrested at a correctional center on the Mid North Coast. He was charged with seven offenses, including participating in a criminal group and contributing criminal activity, as well as possessing unauthorized firearms and supplying firearms to unauthorized persons [1].
On July 30, 2025, detectives executed search warrants in Greystanes and Menai, where they located $29,150 in cash, a single barrel shotgun, cocaine, and mobile phones. Later that day, two more men were arrested in Narellan and Blacktown, respectively, and charged with various offenses related to criminal activity and firearms possession [1].
The arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to disrupt organized crime networks in Sydney. The public is urged to provide information that may assist in these investigations through Crime Stoppers [1].
