FTAI Aviation surged 5.56% intraday, following the company's announcement of the FTAI Power platform, which converts CFM56 engines into 25MW aeroderivative power turbines to supply flexible, cost-effective energy solutions for global data centers. Production is set to begin in 2026. As a major global owner and maintainer of CFM56 engines, FTAI leverages its 950,000 sq. ft. maintenance facilities and a multi-billion-dollar engine portfolio to commercialize the solution. The platform aims to address surging demand for on-demand power from AI-driven hyperscale data centers, with plans to produce 100 units annually and offer modular services.
