TSLA--

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) disclosed on November 13 that Tesla (TSLA.US) would recall 2431 Cybertruck vehicles from the 2024 model year due to a potential failure in the drive inverters that could cause the wheels to lose power. The recall involves some 2024 Cybertruck vehicles produced between November 6, 2023, and July 30, 2024, that were equipped with or had been equipped with metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors in the drive inverters. NHTSA said that if the inverter stopped producing torque, the driver would lose the ability to apply torque to the vehicle using the accelerator pedal, resulting in a loss of propulsion, which could increase the risk of a crash. Tesla will begin replacing the recalled drive inverters with inverters equipped with functional MOSFET components for free to customers starting on or about December 9. This is the fifth separate recall for Tesla Cybertruck vehicles this year.
