Former FirstEnergy CEOs Chuck Jones and Michael Dowling are on trial for allegedly orchestrating a $60 million bribery scheme involving Ohio utility regulator Sam Randazzo. Prosecutors claim the two men paid Randazzo $4.3 million in exchange for regulatory favors. The defense argues the payment was a lump sum settling Randazzo's consulting agreement. The trial is expected to last eight weeks.
