FinSights AI and New Constructs Partner with Google to Deliver an Alpha Agent

New Constructs, a financial research firm specializing in forensic data, has partnered with Google Cloud to launch FinSights, an artificial intelligence (AI) agent designed to assist investors with stock selection. The new agent, which combines Google’s Gemini models and the Google Cloud Vertex AI platform with New Constructs' proprietary fundamental data, is positioned as a direct challenge to conventional financial modeling.

David Trainer, Founder & CEO of New Constructs, defined the agent's purpose and performance claims in an interview with AInvest, stating, "FinSights is artificial intelligence for investing, pure and simple. And it's the real thing because it's fed with data that is proven to generate alpha from the stock market. Specifically, the same data that drives FinSights, drives live traded indices and an ETF managed by Bloomberg that are dramatically outperforming the S&P."

FinSights is engineered around New Constructs’ “industry-leading, proprietary fundamental data, ontology and stock rankings,” Trainer said. The firm aims to address what it calls "a critical problem in the AI-in-finance space," namely the over-reliance on "accounting-based data," by utilizing its "forensically adjusted financials and Core Earnings metrics." Trainer said this approach enables the platform to deliver "insights that outperform conventional analyst frameworks."

The company issued a press release that highlighted the firm's data-first approach. "AI can be a direct engine for advances in intelligent investing when it's powered by high-quality data," said Brad Little, Vice President, Global Head of Professional Services at Google Cloud. Little added that by building FinSights on Google Cloud, New Constructs’ proprietary data marries the platform’s large language model capabilities.

Mr. Trainer further emphasized the platform's core differentiator in the interview. "AI is like every other model. The quality of the data is going to generate the quality of the output, garbage in, garbage out. And with FinSights, we've married a super high-quality data set."

FinSights is currently available to clients who have a subscription to the New Constructs website, according to Mr. Trainer, who noted that the tool will "eventually... be a paid-for service."
