Under the partnership, FedEx couriers will drop off parcels at QuikBot's forward fulfillment depots in selected buildings. Here, QuikBot staff will verify and load the parcels into secured QuikBoxes. The autonomous robots, guided by artificial intelligence agents, will then navigate lifts and access individual floors to complete contactless deliveries without human assistance [1].
QuikBot's technology includes QuikCat, a short-distance autonomous robot designed for quick deliveries, and QuikFox, a mid-distance robot that can carry up to three QuikBoxes per trip. QuikFox manages transfers between buildings and hands the QuikBoxes to QuikCats for last-mile delivery [1].
The partnership follows a six-month pilot in two commercial areas – South Beach Tower and Mapletree Business City. The delivery robots are now in service in both locations and are expected to be deployed in more commercial buildings in Singapore by the end of 2025 [1].
This initiative aligns with FedEx's broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and integrate automation into deliveries. The company's sales are primarily driven by mail and express shipping services (46.6%), small package delivery (39.1%), and large package delivery (10.3%), with the United States accounting for 72.4% of net sales [2].
