The move allows FedEx to regain volume in the space occupied by Amazon, Walmart, and UPS, while maintaining control of customer relationships and data. FedEx SameDay Local will provide merchants with two-hour or end-of-day delivery options, connecting them to a national network of delivery providers. The service aims to meet consumer expectations for flexibility and convenience at a lower cost than FedEx could offer on its own.
