Fatal Hit and Run Collision Under Investigation in Charleston

Charleston Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on July 11 near Paul Cantrell Boulevard and Henry Tecklenburg Drive. A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, resulting in the victim's death. The roadway was closed for four hours, and the collision remains under investigation. The Charleston County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name. This is the sixth fatal traffic-related collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department in 2025.
