Faraday Future Bets Big on Crypto to Fuel Automotive Flywheel

Faraday Future, the electric vehicle (EV) startup led by founder and co-CEO Jia Yueting, has announced a $2 million expansion of its C10 Treasury, which focuses on digital asset allocation. The move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to integrate traditional automotive operations with blockchain-based initiatives, emphasizing a dual-engine approach described as a Web2+Web3 cyclic growth system. At the core of the strategy is a portfolio split between passive index tracking (80%) and active management (20%), ensuring diversification while maintaining strategic choices in the volatile crypto market.

Jia’s recent allocation includes an increased position in Chainlink (LINK) and sustained emphasis on Binance Coin (BNB), which the company cites as its largest strategic holding. The rationale for BNB stems from its robust ecosystem, stable user base, and strategic position in the broader crypto market. The C10 Treasury has also initiated staking of its crypto holdings, marking a new phase in its value creation strategy. Staking is expected to enhance returns through on-chain rewards, reduce portfolio risks via diversification, and support the growth of blockchain networks like Ethereum and Solana.

The C10 Treasury expansion is one of several strategic developments Faraday Future is set to highlight at its upcoming 919 Futurist Day & Shareholders’ Community Day event on September 19, 2025, in Los Angeles. At the event, Jia will elaborate on the company’s three growth engines—C10 & C (Crypto), the C10 Treasury, and the FF EAI Vehicle Chain products. The event also includes an overview of the FX Super One’s progress in U.S. homologation and its Middle East launch plans, as well as the deployment strategy for the EAI Vehicle Chain. The EAI Vehicle Chain is a key component of Faraday Future’s broader vision to leverage artificial intelligence and blockchain in automotive manufacturing and distribution.

In addition to the C10 Treasury and vehicle development updates, the company will seek shareholder approval at the same meeting to increase the number of shares available under its equity incentive plan. Management has described the proposal as essential for attracting and retaining talent. Jia, who previously invested $180,000 of his signing bonus into FFAI stock under a 10b5-1 plan, has expressed full confidence in the company’s long-term strategy.

The dual-track strategy, while ambitious, has raised questions among investors about its execution and alignment with core automotive operations.
